Certifications

We have been awarded various certifications that prove that Higos Secos El Pajarero is abiding by established levels of quality and safety and that our figs are being grown, cared for and handled according to sustainable criteria, while respecting the safety, hygiene and well-being of our workers, the environment and all the animals involved in their production.

The following is a detailed list of the certifications that we have been granted and what is certified by each one:

The GLOBALG.A.P. certification.

For yet another year we have been granted the GLOBALGAP certification for Crops. In order to obtain this certification an exhaustive monitoring of our fields, harvest methods, crops and production was carried out.

You can find more detailed information about this in our blog.

The BIO certification guarantees that a product has been produced and manufactured following strict organic agricultural regulations by being monitored throughout the process of production, manufacturing, packaging and sale.  The agricultural products that obtain the BIO certification are organic fruits and vegetables that have been grown without synthetic chemical fertilisers or pesticides (such as fungicides, insecticides or herbicides). Therefore, there are no traces of these substances within the organic products that have this certification.

You can find more detailed information about this in our blog.

The IFS certification verifies that the handling of our products meets the industry standards. This food safety regulation is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), an organisation that audits companies that produce food or package bulk foods, with a direct focus on the safety and quality of the food products being processed. In our case, Higos El Pajarero was granted this certification for the production of dried figs and fig and nut bread, both of which are packaged using flow pack machines, plastic containers or shrink wrap.
